2007 Miss Teen Florida Latina - Stephanie Gilbert
 
 

As Miss Teen Florida Latina 2007 Stephanie's platform was to advise young Latinas to respect themselves. “No one will respect you, unless you respect yourself and that to me is the most important thing. I also want to continue my education, because without that I can not conquer my dreams of working in the media as a news anchor. I love to give news and communicate with people."

 

Stephanie wants to work in the media as a news anchor. She is proud of knowing two languages (Spanish and English) and her two cultures. Other honors include scoring higher than 3.0 on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT), being a cast member in her school's theater production of Cinderella and being chosen by her peers in a school of over 2,000 students as Homecoming Princess and later Homecoming Queen of 2007. At the Miss Florida Latina 2007 Pageant, Stephanie won the Best Skin, Best Interview and Best Evening Gown Awards.

 

Stephanie's pastimes include spending time with her friends and family, "the best gift I have received is their love for me". She also enjoys reading novels and information on current events, horseback riding, volleyball, shopping, modeling, Beauty Pageants and helping the elderly.

 

Stephanie continues to go to school and work in Tampa, and after a successful participation at the Miss Florida USA 2009 Pageant, she will compete again this year as Miss Pinellas County. Congratulations and best of luck on your future endeavors!

 

Stephanie Gilbert returns to

 Miss Florida USA

 

Former Miss Teen Florida Latina, Stephanie Gilbert, has won the Miss Pinellas Pageant and will be a contestant in the 2010 Miss Florida USA Pageant, being held in beautiful Hollywood, Florida, the week of July 14 -18, 2009. The winner will represent the State of Florida at the nationally-televised MISS USA Pageant which will be seen on the NBC Television Network next year.

 

 

Miss Gilbert will compete in swimsuit, evening gown, and personal interviews while having received pageantry training from Giabella Salon Pageantry Coaching and Consulting Services as Miss Teen Florida Latina 2007-08. During her preparation, Stephanie learned Latina pageant secrets such as those used by former Miss Universe from Puerto Rico Zuleyka Rivera, Denise Quiñones and others, in areas such as personal development and self-esteem, interview skills, walking techniques, wardrobe selection, stage presence, make-up application & hairstyle, shaping up for competition, and more. There is a reason why Latinas make up the most number of winners and runners up in international competitions and these secrets are revealed through Giabella Salon’s Pageant Boot Camp or through the Miss Florida Latina Contestant Training.

 

During her reign as Miss Teen Florida Latina 2007, Stephanie also participated in Tampa’s Puerto Rican Day Parade, was featured in numerous publications, prepared for a career as a television journalist by co-hosting the Miss Florida Latina Live Show and competed in the Miss Florida USA Pageant of 2009.

The Miss Florida Latina and Teen Florida Latina Pageants are Preliminaries to the Nationally Recognized Miss Latina US and Miss Teen US Latina Pageants - The Most Famous and Prestigious Pageants for Latinas in the USA.

 

Miss Martinez, is a business and research student at Miami Dade University whose hobbies include salsa dancing 'casino' style, listening to ballads and spending time with her family, while Miss Gilbert is a recent High School graduate who belongs to her Church Youth Group organization and ambitions a career in communications.

 

The Miss Florida Latina and Miss Teen Florida Latina Pageant is a beauty contest and scholarship program dedicated to showcasing the beauty and talents of young women of Hispanic ancestry, between the ages of 14 to 17 for the Teen Division and from 18 to 27 for the Miss Division, living in the State of Florida. Our objective is to instill cultural pride, self esteem and leadership qualities among these young women. This pageant provides an opportunity for Latinas to advance in their careers and personal goals by learning of their heritage, developing self esteem and networking.
